Bilbao Triathlon.

This sporting event, whose first edition was held in May 2011, anually at the end of the month of May offers a tough test for its participants; 1900 meters swim in the estuary of Bilbao, 90 km bike Artxanda, lung Bilbao, and 21 feet on both banks of the ria ..

This is a middle distance triathlon that will cover inter alia the Guggenheim Museum, the Palacio Euskalduna, Maritime Museum, Mount Artxanda .... A unique event for both athletes and enthusiasts who come to admire the stubbornness of this sporting spectacle.

The test starts swim up to the dock located across from City Hall, which is accessed from the Plaza de Pio Baroja. The tour starts downstream to La Salve and a U-turn at the height of Guggenheim then traced back to the river and beyond the line of departure at City Hall to reach the goal in Arenal's Wharf, just before the bridge. In total, 1.9 miles long, a walk bounded by buoys and canoes. With an estimated water temperature around 17 degrees, the organization will allow a maximum time spent in the water an hour.

The cycling test began, according to estimates by the organization, between 13:55 and 14:30. Rise Stairs provide access to the Wharf of the swimmers Arenal, which is equipped with a continuous shower system and the pits where the bikes will be participants. These go through to the roundabout at the Plaza Ernesto Erkoreka and Zumalacárregui to Bolueta Avenue, where it connects with the N-634 to the roundabout Erletxe to then take the detour to Artxanda and start the toughest stretch of the trail and spectacular: the posted to The Nursery. Enekuri Artxanda and continue to, with a U-turn to get to Santo Domingo, down to Bolueta and repeat the first section to re-ascend the steep ramps of the nursery. After coming back to Enekuri, participants will make the descent into the tunnels Deusto by Bernaola, and completed the test in the Euskalduna Bridge roundabout. In total, 87 kilometers very demanding, rising 1,167 meters of accumulated and partially cut traffic for the competition.

The run will start in the garage where the bikes will be left on the esplanade of Botica Vieja. It will be three laps and a half to a street circuit of 21 kilometers, which runs almost entirely along the banks of the River: Ribera Botica Vieja, Avenida Volantín Universities & Field, drawing on the Bridge Hall , and then spring Uribitarte, Guggenheim, Abandoibarra and turn in the Maritime Museum to surround the Euskalduna and return to start crossing the Bridge of venue. On the last lap, crossing the Bridge of the circuit deviates City Dock Ripa, Puente del Arenal and spring of the same name, to complete the course within the Parque del Arenal where the goal will be installed. Participants will have two aid stations per lap.
